Thông số thống kê từ Ngân hàng Trung Ương cho thấy các giao dịch thẻ ghi nợ tại các điểm bán PoS đã tăng gần 20% lên 4,8 tỷ EURO trong tháng 12, so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái. Sau khi được chính thức đưa ra thị trường vài năm trước, tính đến hiện tại giao dịch không tiếp xúc đã và đang ngày càng được ưa chuộng cho các giao dịch vừa và nhỏ.
Trong Quý cuối cùng của năm ngoái, thẻ ghi nợ đã được sử dụng trong 305 triệu giao dịch PoS, với chi tiêu trung bình ở mức 41,53 EURO cho mỗi giao dịch. Bên cạnh đó, số lượng giao dịch với thẻ tín dụng cá nhân là 42 triệu, với chi tiêu trung bình vào khoảng 74,60 EURO cho mỗi giao dịch.
Chi tiêu thẻ ghi nợ tại PoS và ATM gấp 5,6 lần giá trị chi tiêu thẻ tín dụng trong cùng Quý.
